The City of Marietta’s Economic Development Division fosters local economic growth by attracting and retaining businesses, encouraging redevelopment, and embracing innovation. Our staff of Economic Development professionals are dedicated to supporting the creation, sustainability and growth of both small and large businesses and entrepreneurs.

Marietta's Economic Development professional staff is always ready to assist businesses directly and by facilitating connections between companies and state and workforce agencies committed to business retention and expansion and assisting employers with recruiting and retaining qualified workers. The Division operates and facilitates business and development services including:

    To support the success of businesses and industry, our staff provides direct support to new, existing, and prospective business owners based on individual needs and goals. Available resources and services include assistance with site location, identifying incentives and financing options, and facilitating expansion projects. The Division also connects companies with partner agencies offering specialized services, which are often provided for free or at a low cost, including business start-up and workforce assistance.

  3. Incentives & Financing

    The Economic Development Division supports new and growing businesses by identifying incentives, low cost financing and other cost saving programs. These incentives include job tax credits, tax credits and tax-exempt financing as well as grants and loans for small businesses.

  4. Development Initiatives

    The Office of Economic Development's staff play a leading role in initiatives that support the economic vitality and cultural vibrancy of our community. Active and ongoing initiatives include but are not limited to the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, Delk/Franklin TOD Livable Centers Initiative (LCI), the 2013 General Obligation Bond (GO Bond) and targeted area Redevelopment. With the exception of the Comprehensive Plan, these initiatives focus on land use planning, blight removal, infrastructure development, and other strategies to attract new companies and development to the Franklin Gateway Corridor and adjacent areas.
