MARIETTA, GA - The City of Marietta will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Fairground Streetscape Project and recognize the improvements made along this corridor. The event will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the corner of Fairground Street and Haley Street.

This marks the completion of the final phase of the Fairground Streetscape Project, which began nearly 20 years ago and was funded through the 1995, 2005, and 2011 SPLOSTs. Phase 4, funded at $4.5 million from the 2011 SPLOST, enhances pedestrian connectivity and roadway beautification through upgraded infrastructure. Improvements include new sidewalks, additional pedestrian crosswalks, landscaped medians, upgraded stormwater drainage, new retaining walls, and decorative streetlights and traffic signals along the half-mile stretch from Roswell Street to South Marietta Parkway. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

All of these features further the City’s vision of being a hub of activity, where traffic… and pedestrians move about easily and safely while advancing its goal of safe crossings in its street designs.
