Historical Society To Host Black Genealogy Workshop

MARIETTA, GA - On June 13th, Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society, Inc. will host a genealogy workshop with Christopher Smothers, founder and CEO of Unearthing Your Roots, Inc., a company that provides professional genealogy services. A recent graduate of Clark Atlanta University and current graduate student at Simmons University, Christopher has a passion for helping people discover their roots. During this special presentation, Christopher will share a comprehensive list of every formerly enslaved individual mentioned in Cobb County probate records and provide tips on how to use resources like Census Records, Probate Records, and Slave Schedules in genealogical research. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance online. Space is limited.
