Here at the Marietta Police Department, our training staff works diligently to find new and effective ways to not only train our officers, but the general public on how to respond to an active shooter event. Why? Because the police are never first on scene at an active shooter event. You are! It is essential that you know what to do and where to go in the event you find yourself in the middle of one of these incidents. Doing nothing at all is not an option!

We encourage you, your family, friends as well as your co-workers to view the information provided. This information will empower and instill confidence in anyone of all ages and abilities to know what to do in a critical incident. We also encourage you to review this information with coworkers and supervisors to assist in establishing a plan in the event an incident occurs at your place of business.
