The service line is the pipe that connects a home or business to the public water main. As shown in the diagram, Marietta Water maintains the portion of the service line that runs from the water main to the meter.. From the meter to the home or business, including any piping inside the building, the service line is the responsibility of the property owner.
Marietta Water has completed a comprehensive service line inventory for all water connections in our system. This inventory was conducted using a combination of historical records and field inspections. We are pleased to report that no lead service lines were found within the Marietta Water service area.
