1. Is a trash can required and do you drop one off?

In most areas of the City, you must purchase your own 32 gallon can. The Sanitation Department will provide the decal that is required to be affixed to the can.

2. How do I get a recycling bin and what can I recycle?

To request a recycling bin, go to www.mariettaga.gov. Click City Hall, Environmental Services, then Request a Recycling Bin. You can also find more information about recycling under "Sanitation Rules".

3. What day is yard waste/brush pickup?

Yard waste (brush) is picked up at the curb on each Wednesday.

4. Am I charged for additional items I need to have picked up?

Yes, there is a fee for this service. To request pickup of special items, please contact the Sanitation Department at 770-794-5595.

5. What is the holiday schedule for garbage pickup?

To access the current year's holiday pickup schedule, go to www.mariettaga.gov and click City Hall/Environmental Services.

6. Is Sanitation service required or can I choose a different provider?

City ordinance requires all City residents to sign up for garbage service with the City of Marietta. Private haulers are prohibited from picking up garbage within the City limits of Marietta.
