I want to fence in my yard; can I put it up on the property line?

I want to put up a fence on my property; what rules must I observe?

  • Only 4-foot tall decorative fences are allowed in the front yard area of any property (some exceptions apply); chain link fences are not allowed.
  • Decorative fence materials include wood, brick, stone, wrought iron, split rail, etc.
  • The finished side of decorative wood fences must face the exterior.
  • Fences cannot be located within 2 feet of a public right-of-way; otherwise, fences are allowed to go up to a property line.
