Ron Mull has served the City of Marietta for the past 26 years. Hired in 1997, Mr. Mull first served as the Internal Service Director for the Marietta Board of Lights and Water (BLW). In July 1999, he was promoted to serve as Director of Utility Marketing and Customer Service for the BLW and in February 2005 he became the Customer Care Director for the BLW where he was responsible for developing the strongest possible relationship between the BLW and its customers. He simultaneously managed the Customer Service Division, Meters and Services Division, and the Mail Room and Print Shop operations.
Through his roles of leadership within the BLW, Mr. Mull gained valuable knowledge of all aspects of the Department and was appointed to serve as General Manager for the Marietta Board of Lights and Water. The Marietta Board of Lights and Water Board of Directors approved the appointment on January 12, 2015 and this action was ratified by the Marietta City Council on January 14, 2015. Prior to his work with the City of Marietta, Mr. Mull held various roles within the Bank of America.
During his career with Marietta Power and Water, Mr. Mull has also been responsible for the Marketing Department while primarily focusing on the key accounts (large customers) program and new sales, whereby the BLW competes with other utility providers for customer choice loads. He has also provided oversight for the Business Analysis group which analyzes the statistical information for electric, water, and sewer.
Mr. Mull graduated from Mars Hill College with a Degree in Business Administration and Management and previously worked for Bank of America as a Relationship Manager before returning to his native Cobb County and coming to work at the BLW.
Mr. Mull was elected to serve on the Electric Cities of Georgia Board from 2009-13 and the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG) Marketing Services Board from 2004-2009. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb 2009 (Best Ever Class) and has been active in other Cobb Chamber related activities.
He and his wife Jill have been married 36 years and have 2 wonderful children McPherson and Remington.
