Marietta Museum of History to Host Remember When Club: Civil Rights in Marietta

May 17, 2017

MARIETTA - On Friday, May 26th, 2017 at 10:30am, the Marietta Museum of History continues its popular monthly program, the Remember When Club.  In its third year, the Club explores what life was like in Cobb County when Highway 41 was known as the 4 Lane, everyday shopping was done on the Square and life was a little bit simpler.

The Remember When Club discusses different topics each month with a panel of guests that share their memories.  The Club encourages the audience to participate by sharing their memories as well.  This month, we will be discussing the Civil Rights movement in Cobb County and hear stories from Marietta citizens who can share personal experiences in a segregated world. Joining our panel will be Ms. Clara Jenkins, Mr. Michael Thomas and others.

The Remember When club is held the 4th Friday of every month through October in the first floor Virginia Tumlin Room at 10:30am. If you have a topic that you think would be good for the club or know of a person who could speak on our upcoming topic(s), please contact Museum staff at 770-794-5710 or info@mariettahistory.org

When: Friday, May 26th, 2017 starting at 10:30am

Where: Marietta Museum of History, 1 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060
