The Marietta Police Department is pleased to announce its upcoming Citizens Police Academy. The semiannual program provides citizens of Marietta with an opportunity to experience and take an in-depth look at what it is like to be a police officer.
During the program, participants will get an overview of various units within the police department and learn about multiple topics such as: Crime Analysis, Narcotics, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Crime Interdiction Unit, Investigative Services, Traffic Enforcement, Community Response Unit, K-9 Unit, Crime Scene Processing, and much more.
The eleven week program is FREE of charge and is scheduled to begin on July 27, 2017. Classes will be held every Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Marietta Police Department for eleven weeks.
The Academy is open to residents, and business or property owners of the City of Marietta pending a background check. Applications are available at the front desk of the Marietta Police Department (240 Lemon Street), or online at https://www.mariettaga.gov.
