Marietta, GA—On Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:30am, the Marietta Museum of History will host its regular monthly meeting of the Remember When Club. The Remember When Club is open to everyone that “has been there and done that!” Each month the Remember When Club discusses a different topic or theme being led by a panel of guests sharing their memories.
This month the Remember When Club will be remembering “Marietta’s Marching Music”. Join our special guests band director Boyd McKeown, band member Bill Dunaway and drummer Jim Rich as we take look back at Marietta’s band program thru the decades. We encourage members of the community that participated in the band programs to attend and share their tales, memories and appreciate for the band program in our schools.
One extra note, the Band Room at Marietta High School will be dedicated to Mr. Boyd McKeown at 7:00 PM, April 18, 2017. The Cobb New Horizons Band will perform along with the MHS Band in at the new MHS auditorium and Mr. McKeown will conduct CNHB playing "The Music Man". The band room dedication ceremony and reception will follow. It is free and open to the public.
*The Remember When Club is held the 4th Friday of every month (except November and December) in the first Floor Virginia Tumlin Room of the Marietta Museum of History at 10:30am.
