MARIETTA – The City of Marietta is pleased to announce that the city owned utility, Marietta Power, has once again received the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) awards for 2017 from the American Public Power.
Marietta Power has been an RP3 recipient for seven years. This is the second consecutive time Marietta Power has achieved the Diamond Level RP3 certification. The certification was first received in 2014 and lasted for three years.
The RP3 designation recognizes public power utilities that provide consumers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric services. The designated utilities demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
Not only was Marietta Power the first Electric City in Georgia to earn RP3 designation in 2010, they earned it again in 2012 and Marietta Power was the first to earn Diamond status in Georgia in 2014.
"We are proud of the high quality of service our employees provide our customers on a daily basis," said Marietta Power and Water General Manager, Ron Mull. "The hard work and dedication that went into receiving this designation for another three years speaks volumes to work ethic of those we employ and I could not be more proud of our team."
