MARIETTA - In addition to the Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K being a fun St. Patrick’s Day themed, Peachtree Road Race Qualifier, this March 16th event, will also feature a new “Memorial Mile of Celebration” during the 2nd mile of the race.  The “Memorial Mile of Celebration” will consist of participants registering “In Memory Of” teams to run in honor of those they’ve loved and lost.  Then during the race, from Mile Marker 2 to Mile Marker 3, everyone will be encouraged to celebrate the lives of their loved ones with cheers, chants, and salutes in motion!  “In Memory of” Team registrations of 25 or more will have their loved one’s names added to the souvenir race shirt and receive souvenir wristbands.

The 8th Annual Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K Walk/Run will take place Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8:00am (welcome & warm-up at 7:30am) at the Marietta Square, 75 East Park Square, Marietta, GA.  The event will also include prizes for St. Patrick’s Day themed costume contests for the most convincing leprechaun and top qualifier awards.  Early registration is available through February 4th for just $35.  The price will increase to $40 after Feb. 4th, then $45 on race day.  Participants can pick up their race packets early on Friday, March 15th from 10am-7pm at the Hugh L. Grogan Jr. Community Center, 510 Lawrence Street in Marietta.  On race day, onsite registration will be available starting at 7:00am.

Proceeds from this event will support the Marietta Police Athletic League’s (PAL) youth academic, sports and recreation programs.  This year Marietta PAL’s goal is to raise $150,000 to support programming for up to 1,000 youth.  Please help us by registering or donating today at www.MariettaShamrockShuffle.com.

Marietta PAL is a non-profit organization which believes “it’s better to build youth than mend adults.” Through free and low-cost youth programs, PAL helps to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing educational, civic, athletic and recreational opportunities which create trust and build understanding between law enforcement and youth.  PAL provides programs for school-aged youth, from 5-17 years old.  PAL offers daily afterschool, summer camp, martial arts, boxing, basketball and dance programs at the Hugh L. Grogan Jr Community Center, 510 Lawrence Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

Marietta Shamrock Shuffle’s goals are not only to promote health and wellness; support a worthy cause, the Marietta Police Athletic League’s youth programs; but also to foster a strong sense of community and support as participants come together to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.  We are confident this event will bring fun, comfort and joy to all!

Please make plans to join us for the Marietta Shamrock Shuffle and/or make a donation to support Marietta youth!  To register, donate or sponsor please visit:  www.MariettaShamrockShuffle.com or visit www.MariettaPAL.org for more information about Marietta PAL’s youth programs.
