MARIETTA - Join us this Summer at the Marietta History Center as we host a traveling photography exhibit entitled “Georgia Black Vietnam Veterans Portraits.”

This exhibition, which is a part of the larger Vietnam Black Soldiers Portrait Project, created by visual storyteller, Johnny Crawford.  The exhibition will feature over 20 portraits of Black men and women from all over Georgia.

The Vietnam Black Soldiers Portrait Project’s mission is to educate Americans about the Black men and women in their community that served, suffered, and died, fighting for democracy and civil rights on behalf of the people in South Vietnam, even though they did not have the same rights themselves.

The mission of the Marietta History Center is to ignite curiosity in Marietta’s history by connecting people through compelling stories and engaging experiences.
