MARIETTA – Marietta Power and Water will resume service disconnects on June 16, 2020. Special payment plans for customers who have experienced COVID-related hardships will be offered which would allow extending the payment of past due amounts up to six (6) months.
The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our state as well as Marietta Power and Water customers. The Board suspended disconnection of utility services through June 15, 2020. As this moratorium ends, Marietta Power and Water has announced that normal activities for disconnection of service will resume on June 16, 2020. This means that any past due balances on an account must be paid in order to avoid interruption of service.
Due to the financial burden COVID-19 has created for customers, Marietta Power and Water is offering special payment plans for customers who have experienced COVID-related hardships that would allow extending the payment of your past due amount over up to six (6) months. To begin the process of setting up a special payment plan, please visit the website. Once the form is submitted, the Customer Care Department will complete the process and email a copy of your approved payment plan. Generally, payments will be due on or around your normal due date and any current charges will be due along with plan payments.
Additionally, you may qualify for assistance from various utility assistance agencies. To access a list of agencies, visit the website.
As always, you can contact the Customer Care Department if you have questions or need assistance at 770-794-5150 or by email to thepower@mariettaga.gov.
