MARIETTA – The City of Marietta is pleased to announce that it has launched a new emergency mass notification service to keep its citizens better informed and prepared during the times of emergencies, road closures and other incidents within Marietta’s city limits.

This alert system enables the City to provide the community with critical information quickly in a variety of emergency type situations. You opt-in to enter your contact information and subscribe to your specific location. If you enter your address when you sign up then can you receive location specific information within city limits. The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose. Subscribers will receive time-sensitive messages to whichever device specified, such as home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more. Subscribers pick where, and how notifications are received.

When the City of Marietta issues a notification about a potential safety hazard or concern, subscribers will receive a message through the voice or text communication methods for which they registered. If requested for the notification, you can confirm that you have received the message and you will not be contacted by any subsequent methods regarding that particular notification. If you do not confirm, the system will continue to attempt to reach you at all of the contact paths that you have registered.

To be able to receive these notifications, you can simply create an account or download the Everbridge app, search for “Marietta”, and create an account to add your contact information into the Mass Notification system. All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential. You can stop receiving notifications at any time by removing your contact information from your profile. The system is only as good as the information you provide. If your contact information changes, you can always visit your profile and update your information.

This system will be used to notify you about imminent threats to health and safety as well as informational notifications that affect your locations or work environments. The City could send notifications regarding severe weather, flooding, gas leaks, police and fire activity, traffic incidents and more.

The Everbridge App is available in the App store and the Play Store. To register an account without downloading the app, please visit - https://member.everbridge.net/431700047822942/login
