MARIETTA - The Marietta Museum of History is excited to present The A.G. Spalding Museum®: “An American Sports Empire.” This special exhibit highlights an impressive private collection of sports memorabilia showcasing A. G. Spalding, his company and early American sports’ history. Not only was A.G. Spalding the master of a sporting goods empire, he was also a professional athlete, sportsman and marketing genius. Spalding memorabilia on display include items from early baseball, football, golf, fishing, cycling, and basketball history. Spalding is currently celebrating the 125th anniversary of their “official” basketball!
Exhibit highlights include vintage sports uniforms and equipment, and “Babe” Ruth’s 1935 Boston Braves cap! Other items highlight Cobb County’s own, Atlanta Braves’ history including a 1970 Braves uniform top, 1958 World Series bunting and Boston Red Stockings items!

The Marietta Museum of History uses ordinary objects to tell the extraordinary stories of Marietta and Cobb County's rich history and culture. Galleries and exhibits cover topics such as military history, home life throughout the centuries, technology and local businesses from our past.
The Marietta Museum of History is open Monday-Saturday, 10am till 4pm (check website for holiday closings)
Admission is $7 Adults, $5 Seniors and Students, 5 and under are free
