Marietta – In 2017, the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art hosted a series of events celebrating everyone’s favorite wizarding school. This year’s sequel event features more magic than ever before. Attendees will marvel at a museum fully transformed into a fantastic castle, complete with a Great Hall, a potions dungeon, and host of other fun surprises.
On June 20 and June 21 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, MCMA will host an afternoon at Wizarding School. June 20 is for children ages 7-10, while June 21 is for ages 11-17. Students will enjoy a feast in the Great Hall, create three magical crafts, solve a mystery, and tackle a trivia game. There is also a costume contest, so wizarding wear is encouraged. Parents are welcome to tour the castle after the event. Students who bring a children’s book to donate to a local literacy program will receive a free wand. The fee to attend is $40.00, and each date is limited to 60 children.
On June 24, 2019 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, MCMA will host Party at the Castle. Adult fans ages 18 and older will enjoy a feast in the Great Hall, a DJ, a scavenger hunt, a trivia game, and magical crafts. Drinks and appointments with oracles will also be available. Costumes are encouraged, as there will be a contest. Each attendee will also receive a free souvenir pint glass at the event. The fee to attend is $40.00, and attendance is limited to 300 guests.
Pre-registration is required for these events. Previous events sold out quickly, so get your tickets soon. Interested parties can contact Allison Frink, the Director of Education, at 770-528-1444 x16 or mcma.education@gmail.com.
