MARIETTA – The City of Marietta’s Parks & Recreation Department invites you to “Get Fit” with Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center on Saturday, June 8, 11:00am - 3:00pm, as they celebrate Family Health & Fitness Day. Organized by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Family Health & Fitness Day promotes the importance of local parks and recreation in keeping communities healthy.
To celebrate, Marietta Parks, Recreation & Facilities encourages everyone to gather with family and friends to get active at Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center, 545 Kenneth E Marcus Way, Marietta, Ga 30060, during their "Glow Fitness" Day, June 8, 11:00am - 3:00pm.
This event is free and open to the public. There will be a live DJ, food and prizes along with yoga classes, dodgeball, class demos, complimentary massages, and much more!
NRPA challenges everyone to “Get Fit” With Parks and Recreation by doing a minute of jumping jacks (regular or modified) with family and/or friends at a local park or recreation center. Participants are encouraged to share photos and videos of the challenge online using #NRPAFamilyFitDay.
Parks and recreation departments nationwide offer year-round opportunities for families and individuals to stay active and fit. In fact, living close to parks and other recreation facilities is consistently related to higher physical activity levels for both adults and youth.
