MARIETTA - This Veterans Day the Big Chicken Chorus, the Marietta Daily Journal, and the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre have come together to present Veterans Day Salute, a program celebrating and honoring members of the armed forces at The Strand on Sunday, November 11 at 3PM.
The program will feature:
• A patriotic barbershop music concert by the Marietta chapter of the national Barbershop Harmony Society, the Big Chicken Chorus.
• A film screening of The Marietta Daily Journal's "Memories of War" documentary featuring interviews with local World War II veterans giving their invaluable testimony of the war and their place in it.
• A live Q&A talkback with local WWII veterans. Patrons will get a rare opportunity to hear experiences from before, during, and after the war directly from those who lived it.
A celebration of our veterans and an invaluable insight into the second world war from those who experienced it first hand, this event is a must-see for any supporters of the men and women who gave everything for their country and anyone with an interest in WWII history.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP experience which includes a ticket to the Veterans Day Salute program, a DVD copy of the "Memories of War" documentary and a reception on The Strand terrace prior to the program.
All active duty military and veterans get in free to the Veterans Day Salute program. Free tickets must still be reserved through the box office at 770.293.0080. Tickets to the program are $10 for the general public. VIP tickets are $25. VIP tickets for active duty military and veterans is $15.
