MARIETTA – The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre is pleased to share the schedule for all August shows and events. For all shows tickets are available at www.earlsmithstrand.org or at the box office at 770.293.0080 and 117 North Park Square. The box office is open 11am-6pm Monday through Friday, Saturdays from 9am-12pm, and two hours before showtime.

INFO: Join us for a special Strand Ole Opry this April as we return to our roots and take on the music of O Brother, Where Art Thou! Featuring the songs from the Coen Brother’s hit movie, this concert will transport patrons to the old south with beautiful vocals and live band accompaniment. Songs will include favorites like “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow,” “Down to the River to Pray,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “Big Rock Candy Mountain,” “I’ll Fly Away,” and more. This back-porch special featuring Travis Cottle and his One Horse Band and a host of guest vocalists is sure to please country fans of all ages!
Following in the footsteps of a great southern tradition, this concert will transport patrons to the old south with beautiful vocals and live band accompaniment, as well as traditional southern storytelling. Join the performers in the Lumiere Lounge for some drinks and maybe even some sing-alongs after the show!

INFO: The Strand’s most popular show of the summer, Jukebox Giants: Motown & More is a high energy song and dance show featuring unforgettable golden oldies hits with a Motown flair that will have everyone dancing in their seats! This stellar show will transport any music lover on a trip back to the golden age of classic pop and Motown music, featuring everyone’s favorite hits from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Jukebox Giants: Motown & More will feature amazing singers and dancers performing the very best that music has to offer! Audiences from all over are sure to enjoy the big hair, the colorful fashions, and the soulful sounds of The Temptations, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elvis, and the Jackson 5 in this high-energy, high-excitement musical revue that is unlike any other experience in the area.

INFO: Every year, the board and volunteers of the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre raise funds to help keep the beautiful theatre healthy and strong. As a non-profit arts organization, The Strand depends on donations of all sizes throughout the year and fundraising events to help support operations and capital growth. During the Call-a-thon, volunteers spend 12 hours calling out for support while entertainment is broadcast every hour on the hour on Facebook Live. The theatre will also be open to the public at no cost, so come on by and check us out! The 2018 Call-a-thon will take place on Wednesday, August 15 from 9am-9pm, but early donations are always welcome. Please consider a gift to our worthy organization today!
