MARIETTA – The City of Marietta has been successfully processing permit applications via the website for a few months, but we have noticed a few frequently asked questions. In order to help our customers process their permits more efficiently we have listed those questions with answers below.

Please take a moment to review this information. This system has modernized the plan review and permit application process by no longer requiring the applicant to visit multiple City departments for plan approvals. Citizens and Contractor’s now submit documents in a digital format through the City’s official website. The website for the online plan review is located at http://www.mariettaga.gov/1152/5044/Sages.

FAQs:

Q: I cannot remember my username or password, can the City of Marietta reset that information?

A: No, the City of Marietta cannot reset this information. You will need to call the Sages Office in Atlanta directly at (678) 471-7392 or email at infosagesnetworks.com.

Q: When will my permit be ready?

A:  The normal turnaround is 5 – 10 business days unless you have revisions and the review cycle starts all over. If you log in and see that a department has disapproved you, you cannot address comments until the review cycle has been completed. The Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing permits are normally processed within a 24 – 48 hour time period during normal business days not including weekends or holidays.

Q: How do I schedule an inspection?

A: By calling 770-794-8975. This information is on the top of the permit. Use the number to access the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. You can now schedule inspections, or check results, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Q: Will I need to come to City Hall for anything?

A: Yes, sometimes depending on the project a pre-construction meeting will be held here at our office.  Also, someone will need to pick up the inspection card and permit once the permit has been approved except for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing permits.

Q: I’ve paid the fee, now what?

A: Please make arrangements for payment of the following fees that are due on your project. Your permit is ready for payment and issue. You may pay the fee online by logging into your account in SagesGov or come into the office to pay the fee. All online debit/credit transactions will incur a 2.5% convenience fee. Please contact the Building Inspections office to see if a pre-construction meeting is required for this project. The authorized agent or license holder will need to come into the office to pick up your inspection card and permit. The applicant is allowed to pick up the inspection card and permit as long as the permit does not require a state contractor's license.

Additional Information: Please contact the Building Inspections office to see if a pre-construction meeting is required for your project. The authorized agent or license holder will need to come into the office to pick up your inspection card and permit. The applicant is allowed to pick up the inspection card and permit as long as the permit does not require a state contractor's license. If someone other than the licensed card holder will pick up approved permit upload the completed authorized agent form and driver’s license on first submittal of project.
