MARIETTA – The City of Marietta’s Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to celebrate the 8th Annual National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at all the city’s parks.
Organized and launched by the National Park Trust, National Kids to Parks Day is held annually on the third Saturday of May. Kids to Parks Day empowers kids and encourages families to get outdoors and visit America’s parks and recognizes the importance of introducing a new generation to our nation’s parks.
By participating in this national event, the City of Marietta hopes to encourage children to lead a more active lifestyle to combat the issue of childhood obesity. Kids to Parks Day is open to all children and adults across the country to encourage a large and diverse group of participants and to broaden each child’s appreciation for nature and outdoors.
