MARIETTA - This academy is designed to provide faith-based leaders with insight into various aspects of policing. Participants will learn from department personnel who are experts in the areas of S.W.A.T, narcotics, detectives, patrol operations, traffic laws, crime scene investigations, and many other aspects of policing. Participants will gain understanding into the daily operations of the Marietta Police Department while also getting to know some of the officers who serve our community.
Participants are encouraged to respectfully ask questions and express their concerns about pertinent issues. A key goal of the Pastors’ Police Academy is to increase understanding between faith-based leaders and the police department, while building lasting partnerships. Therefore, graduates of this program are invited to quarterly faith-based leader forums in which the police and the faith-based leaders discuss important issues affecting our community.
There is no charge for this class. Participants will meet for six consecutive Tuesday nights from 6pm to 9pm, April 3rd through May 8th. Space is limited so RSVP as soon as possible to reserve your spot. For more information or to RSVP, contact: Officer Brian Vaughan at 770-794-5328 or via email at: bvaughan@mariettaga.gov.
