MARIETTA – Now a two-day event, the 26th Annual Marietta StreetFest, held September 16-17, focuses on the family with many free activities including arts & crafts booths, the Hubcaps and History Car Show on Saturday and the Military, Motorcycles & More Cruise-In on Sunday, a kid-friendly activity zone and Tiny Tot Town, the Toy Box Trot fun run and the Marietta Grassroots Music Festival.
Each year, the festival draws more than 21,000 attendees to the Marietta Square, amid a variety of local shops, dining options and historic sites.
ART/CRAFT Marietta StreetFest features arts and crafts from more than 75 vendors. From handcrafted items such as paintings, jewelry and pottery to market items such as jellies, jams and sauces, visitors will discover unique items throughout the festival from local, as well as national artists.
KIDS
Marietta StreetFest includes plenty of kid-sized fun! Kids Korner kicks off on Saturday with the Toy Box Trot followed by kid-friendly entertainment featuring Kim Armstrong and the Dance Party. There will be magic shows, juggling and more, and all of it is free to watch! Children’s Activity Row has been expanded with more inflatables and free interactive art stations and games, and there is something for the littlest attendees in the Tiny Tot Town with pint-size toys, a mini inflatable slide and cardboard houses. On Sunday, StreetFest welcomes the Bubble Lady for a magical experience.
VINTAGE CARS
The 13th-annual Hubcaps and History Classic Car Show, which features a wide variety of interesting and amazing classic cars, will be held on Saturday only, weather permitting. Multiple awards will be given along with one award for People’s Choice. The winners will be announced at the festival on Saturday at 3 p.m.
CRUISE-IN
The Military, Motorcycles & More Cruise-In, hosted by the Marietta Museum of History, expands this year to include more vehicles and groups. In addition to the returning vintage, contemporary and specialty military vehicles, the Cruise-In invites motorcycle groups to join in the fun. The Cruise-in will be held on South Park Square and Atlanta Street on festival Sunday.
MUSIC
StreetFest attendees can grab their blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and support local musicians. Organized by the Marietta Grassroots Music Festival, musical performances at Marietta StreetFest feature original music in a variety of genres by bands and singer/songwriters throughout the metro Atlanta area. www.grassrootsfest.com
