MARIETTA – On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, the Marietta City Council voted to adopt a balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2018, which begins July 1, 2017, and ends June 30, 2018. The budget, which was recommended by City Manager Bill Bruton and Finance staff, was passed with no service reductions and no tax or fee increases.
The general fund budget funds general government services including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development, and streets and public works maintenance.
The City’s millage rate that supports governmental services remains the same at 2.788 mills.
The City’s overall FY 2018 budget is $322 million, which includes the $56.69 million for the general fund budget.
