MARIETTA - The City of Marietta will hold two public hearings on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 regarding the recommended budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, which begins July 1, 2017. The meetings will be held at noon and 5pm in the City Hall Council Chamber located on the lobby level of City Hall at 205 Lawrence Street.
The general fund budget funds general government services including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development, and streets and public works maintenance.
The City’s millage rate that supports governmental services is currently 2.788 mills and is expected to remain the same.
The City’s overall FY 2018 budget is $322 million, which includes the $56.69 million for the general fund budget.
Citizens are invited to attend the public hearing. City staff will present a brief overview of the budget, and citizens may comment and ask questions at that time. The Marietta City Council will consider the budget for approval at its regular scheduled meeting on June 14, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chamber.
