City Hall searching for economic stimulus funding

The city of Marietta is moving forward with plans to utilize funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act  for job creation and community improvement projects. To do this, the City Manager's office has established an internal Economic Recovery Stimulus Task Force at City Hall.

Last month, city officials announced its intent to utilize $785,000 of grant money awarded to Marietta for energy efficiency and conservation projects. In addition, the city anticipates the community will receive an additional $185,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding and $230,000 for Marietta Police Department programs. The city anticipates applying for additional stimulus funds announced daily through Federal notification websites.
