MARIETTA GONE WITH THE WIND MUSEUM TO HOST HOLLYWOOD ELITE

Mark your calendar for June 30-July 1, 2007, because you will not want to miss this year’s Marietta Gone With the Wind museum special event, entitled, The Heart & History of Hollywood.  Special guests for the black-tie dinner affair are actress Ann Rutherford and Turner Classic Movies host, Robert Osborne.  Ms. Rutherford portrayed “Carreen,” the little sister of “Scarlett O’Hara” in the film version of Gone With the Wind.  She has enjoyed a most lucrative career in Hollywood, with movies such as Orchestra Wives, (just been released on DVD), Pride and Prejudice, and most of the Andy Hardy films in which she portrayed “Polly Benedict,” girlfriend of Mickey Rooney’s title character.  Ms. Rutherford lives in Beverly Hills, CA and is still very active, making appearances on behalf of her Gone With the Wind role and delighting fans, who, continue to travel nationwide for her appearances.  Robert Osborne, formerly a Hollywood columnist, but best known for his hosting duties with Turner Classic Movies and keeper of the Hollywood history flame, has interviewed hundreds of celebrities through the years.  Mr. Osborne has known Ms. Rutherford for many years, and is also close friends with Olivia de Havilland who played “Melanie” in Gone With the Wind.  He presented her with a special award from the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Hollywood just last summer.

“The Heart & History of Hollywood is still somewhat in the planning stages, but plans that have been confirmed so far, include “Dinner and a Movie Star” and an evening of many, behind-the-scenes stories from our special guests.  Music will be part of the evening, with famous movie themes, which, of course, include “Tara’s Theme” from Gone With the Wind. “Dinner and a Movie Star” will take place Saturday, June 30th, with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Marietta Country Club. Tickets for “Dinner and a Movie Star” are $100 per person. Black-tie optional.

On Sunday, July 1st, fans that have just not seen enough of our celebrities can delight in the “Autographs and Photographs” session at the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum. The session is from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Those who wish to attend the “Autographs and Photographs” session may purchase tickets at a cost of $25.

Prepaid ticket sales for the autograph session are available, but may also be purchased at the door the day of the event.  Prepaid tickets will be mailed through June 20th. After June 20th prepaid tickets must be picked up at will-call. Reservations deadline for the black-tie dinner is Friday, June 15th due to dinner requirements.
