Water & Sewer Regulations

Water & Sewer Inspections

Water and sanitary sewer inspections are performed by the Marietta Water and Sewer Inspector. Marietta Water inspects utilities to the water meter or to the end of the sewer tap, unless the service is a 8" or larger. Utilities past that point, normally the property line, are considered to be private property and are inspected by the Public Works Department.

The Water and Sewer Inspector must be notified 48 hours prior beginning construction. Prior to covering, all new water and sewer installations must be approved by the Marietta Water inspector. Failure to comply with the inspection process may result in revoking the building permit or a disconnection of water service. The Marietta Water and Sewer Inspector can be reached at (770) 794-5253.

Plan Review

Developments located within the City Limits should submit civil engineering plans to the Public Works office at City Hall, from there they will be routed to the appropriate department. Marietta Water reviews construction plans on Thursday mornings. All plans must comply with Marietta Water specifications as outlined in the
Marietta Water Development Regulations Manual. If you need additional information on plan review for
Marietta Water or if you need a digital copy of the Marietta Water Development Regulations Manual,
call (770)794-5227.
