How do I get my service turned on?
To apply for new service, contact our Service Department at (770) 794-5150 (select options 1,2,0,2).

Do I have to pay a deposit when I apply for new service?
Marietta Power and Water's standard deposit is $200 but the deposit amount may be reduced or waived if you elect to allow us to access your credit file and the report is favorable.

Are there any connection fees?
There is a $25 service charge applied to your first billing for activation of your account.

How do I terminate my account?
You can terminate your services by contacting our Service Department at (770) 794-5150 (select options 1,2,0,2) or you can terminate your service by email (thepower@mariettaga.gov).  If you terminate by email, please include the effective date of the termination and a forwarding address to which we may send your final statement and any refunds you may be due to receive.

How do I access my Marietta Power & Water account online?
To register for online services, click on Online Payments at the top of the Marietta Power & Water Web site, then click GET PIN.  The system will step you through the registration process. You will need your Marietta Power & Water statement to register.

How can I obtain my account balance?
You can obtain information about your account by phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling (770) 794-5150.  You can also access your account through the Online Payments section of this Web site.

What payment options are available?
You can make your payment:

  • By mail (P.O. Box 609, Marietta, GA 30061-0609)
  • By phone using a credit card (770) 794-5150
  • Online
  • In person (Marietta Power and Water business office and Marietta City Hall)
  • At any of our four night depositories

What are your Customer Service business hours?
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Our drive-through window is open to receive payments until 6:00 each business day.

Can I choose my due date?
Because our billings are based on geographical areas for meter reading purposes, we are unable to change your due date.

What is the recommended temperature setting for my heating, air-conditioning and water heater?
Your heat setting should be at 68 degrees or lower, your air-conditioner setting should be at 78 degrees or higher and your water heater setting should be at approximately 110 degrees.

Do you accept checks by phone?
We currently do not accept checks by phone. You can, however, pay with an electronic check using our Online Payments feature.

How do I report a power or water outage?
To report an outage, call (770) 794-5160. You will be asked to enter your phone number so that our system can identify your location.

Do you offer electronic billing?
Marietta Power and Water can notify you by email that your monthly statement has been generated. The email includes a link to our online system where you can view your charges and make your payment. To request this service, send an email request to thepower@mariettaga.gov and include the email address where you would like the notification to be sent.
