Charles (Chuck) George has served as a resident member of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water since July 2004.
Mr. George has lived in Cobb County for 27 years and been a resident of Marietta for 20 years. Having retired from BellSouth after 31 years, he brings to us a wealth of business expertise. While employed with BellSouth, he served in numerous managerial positions both in Georgia and North Carolina in such capacities as the Regional Telemarketing Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Georgia Staff Manager, Staff Manager for Corporate Planning and Manager of Payment Remittance, Atlanta.
Chuck received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama. He also served as Captain in the United States Air Force.
Mr. George's personal affiliations and community involvement includes service on the Boards of Cobb Landmarks, Cobb/Marietta Art Museum, Westside Bank, Cobb County Youth Museum, Leadership Cobb, Chair and Lifetime Member of the Center for Family Resources Board, and Chair of the United Way Campaign for his company in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is also an elder for the First Presbyterian Church.
Chuck and his wife Patricia have three daughters, Elizabeth, Katherine and Margaret. His hobbies include sports, gardening, antiques, and reading.
