Business License Division

The Business License Division administers business/occupation taxes; regulatory fees; franchise fees from telephone, electric power, cable television, fiber optic cable and natural gas providers; alcoholic beverage excise taxes, hotel/motel occupancy taxes, rental motor vehicle excise taxes and insurance premium taxes.

Notify this office of any change of address, ownership, firm name, or classification.

How to apply for a business license

1. You must verify that your business location is in the city limits of Marietta.

   • Obtain zoning information from link above
   • To determine if the property is properly zoned for your type of business, contact the Planning & Zoning office at 770-794-5669.
