Certified City of Ethics - 2009
The Georgia Municipal Association certified Marietta as a City of Ethics in 2000 for adopting an ethics ordinance and following key ethical principles: serve others, not ourselves; use resources with efficiency and economy; treat all people fairly; use the power of our position for the well being of our constituents; create an environment of honesty, openness and integrity. The Association recertified Marietta in 2009.

The National Association of Government Webmasters (NAGW) awarded the City of Marietta with the NAGW Excellence Award for
Runner-up for best small population government Web site.
All-America City Award - 2006
The National Civic League crowned the city of Marietta one of the 10 best communities in the nation as a 2006 All-America City, the oldest and most respected community recognition award in the country. Nearly 600 communities began the application process, and Marietta beat other national finalists for the award, which recognizes exemplary grassroots community problem-solving. Winners in previous years have been honored at the White House. more

The City of Marietta was awarded the first-ever "Trendsetter Award" today when the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and Georgia Trends magazine presented awards at GMA's 47th annual Mayors' Day luncheon at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta. more

The City of Marietta's Geographic Information Services Department was awarded the 'Special Achievement in GIS Award' at the International ESRI User's Conference July 2005, in beautiful San Diego. more
International Association of Chiefs of Police/iXP (IACP/iXP) Award - 2004
The City of Marietta was presented the 2004 International Association of Chiefs of Police/iXP (IACP/iXP) Award for Innovation in Information Technology on May 5th at the 28th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police Law Enforcement Information Management (IACP/LEIM) Conference in Sacramento, California. 2004 marks the first year that this award was presented making the City of Marietta the first recipient of the award. more
