Marietta Historic Board of Review

The Marietta Historic Board of Review was created by Marietta Municipal Ordinance (7-8-8-080) to assist the Downtown Marietta Development Authority in considering applications for changes to buildings within the Historic District.

Historic Preservation Commission

In February 2005, the City Council passed an ordinance to protect Marietta's many historic resources and neighborhoods. In October 2005, seven members were appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission by each City Council member to serve their ward. The first meeting of the Commission was held in January 2006.

Marietta Tree Keepers

Marietta Tree Keepers is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to planting, preserving and protecting trees in and around the city of Marietta, Georgia. Marietta is a city rich in history, yet challenged by tremendous growth.

Franklin Road Weed & Seed Project

The Franklin Road Weed and Seed project, now in its second year of the five-year strategy, has successfully reduced crime by 19 percent. Through extensive work with community members, law enforcement government agencies, local residents, businesses and more than 20 community partners, the Franklin Road community has begun to come together and move in a positive direction.
