MISSION STATEMENT

The principal mission of the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation is to strengthen the economic and residential base of the City by revitalizing neighborhoods, commercial areas and other distressed properties. The role of the MRC is to make strategic real estate investments in blighted areas, assemble properties for redevelopment where needed, and partner with the private sector to invest in our community.

REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The Marietta Redevelopment Corporation monitors development and construction activity within Tax Allocation districts. There are currently 7 active residential and mixed use projects in these districts in addition to a planned commercial and completed mixed use project. The majority of these projects are located within the Center City South Renaissance TAD with four in the Roswell Street Renaissance Neighborhood Improvement District.

At completion, redevelopment projects within tax Allocation Districts will add approximately 860 housing units and 193,000 sq ft of office and retail space to Downtown Marietta neighborhoods and represent more than $305 million in real estate investment. In addition, there are two additional significant redevelopment projects in Downtown Marietta located outside of TADs, but close too TADs, representing an additional 54 units and 10,000 square feet of commercial office space and $22.4 million in investment.
