PROJECT DETAILS
Located within walking distance to the historic Marietta Square, Meeting Park has been planned and developed as a mixed-use village of commercial and residential uses. The site was recently purchased by Walton Communities for redevelopment.

PROJECT HISTORY
The Marietta Housing Authority sold the site for redevelopment to a private developer after demolishing aged public housing. The original development team completed planning and site development work as well as construction of 15 townhomes. Current economic conditions will determine future uses on the site which is located in the Roswell Street Renaissance District.

LOCAL COMMUNITY INFORMATION
Meeting Park is located a short distance, approximately 0.75 miles, from Marietta’s Downtown entertainment, cultural arts, dining, shopping and more. Performing Arts – Meeting Park residents enjoy close proximity to Theatres and Museums on the Marietta Square, including the Historic Strand Theatre. Performances by the Georgia Ballet are held approximately 3 miles and Cobb Symphony Orchestra performances, approximately 6 miles from the neighborhood. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is approximately 10 miles from Meeting Park.

Places of Interest – Meeting Park is close to many places of interest, including the Cobb County Central Library, which is adjacent to the site, and a short distance from National and Confederate Cemeteries. Meeting Park is approximately one mile from the newly renovated Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center and the Marietta Golf Course and City Club.

Area Attractions – Meeting Park and Marietta’s downtown neighborhoods have close proximity to Metro Area attractions. Popular attractions unique to the community include Six Flags White Water and American Adventures, located approximately 2-miles away, Dave & Buster's, located approximately 5-miles away, as well as Ice Forum at Town Center located approximately 7-miles, one of two indoor ice rinks in Metro Atlanta. 

Parks and Recreation - Residents of Meeting Park will enjoy close proximity to City parks and recreation. Victory Park is approximately 1-mile from Meeting Park and features lighted tennis courts, playground and picnic pavilions. Brown Park is a passive park only 1.3-miles from the site. Meeting Park is a short drive or walk, less than1-mile, from the city’s Aviation Baseball/Softball Complex and Lawrence Street Recreation Center are less than 1-mile from the site. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is just over 6-miles west of the neighborhood. The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Allatoona Lakes & Recreation Area are within 25 miles.

Primary Education - Residents of Meeting Park are served by the Marietta City Schools (MCS). MCS serves some 8,000 students at eight elementary choice schools—one of which is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Magnet—one middle school, one sixth-grade school, and one high school. MCS is home to four Georgia Schools of Excellence and one National School of Excellence. MCS has consistently ranked among the top 15 percent of public school systems nationally for the past several years, and has also earned numerous recognitions.

Secondary Education – Meeting Park is close to many colleges & universities with technical, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and continuing education programs. Schools with a campus within a short drive include Chattahoochee Technical College, approximately 2-miles, Kennesaw State University, approximately 7-miles, Life University approximately 3-miles, Southern Polytechnic State University, approximately 2-miles, and the University of Phoenix, approximately 3-miles from the neighborhood.
