Traffic or local ordinance citations

Receive citation from Marietta Police Department or Georgia State Patrol within Marietta city limits?

• You'll receive notice mailed to address shown on citation from clerk of court within 10 business days of offense
• Notice will show fine amount and if it is payable offense without having to appear in court
• If you fail to pay fine or appear in court, warrant for your arrest will be issued, additional contempt of court fine will be issued and driver's license will be suspended

Photo red-light violation

• Different than any other usual traffic violations and have no impact on driving record or insurance
• In accordance with Georgia Law, payment of civil penalty won't be on person's driving record, used by insurance companies in calculating motor vehicle insurance premiums or result in criminal conviction
• Penalty amount: shown on notice that was previously mailed to registered owner of vehicle that allegedly failed to stop or crossed white stop line on road and entered intersection after light turned red
• Maximum penalty for violation: $70
• Fail to pay fine or file affidavit naming driver or file appeal by due date shown on violation notice: additional $25 late fee will be added every 30 days fine is unpaid
• If violation occurred after Dec. 13, 2008, use link below to see your violation, watch video of violation, make payment or schedule court date.
• Citation number and password shown on notice are required to access online system

• If you want to transfer liability to driver of vehicle before due date, provide police report indicating vehicle was stolen before violation occurred or you were not registered owner when violation happened, you can submit an affidavit for review

Parking Ticket

• Amount of fine: shown on ticket
• Payment: due within five days of when ticket was issued

• Tag number or ticket number will be needed so Municipal Court can help you
• If you fail to pay or have five unpaid tickets: additional penalties and vehicle will be held
• Violations: can't be paid online or by phone
