The Marietta Police Department offers citizens the chance to experience what it's like to be a police officer through its Citizens' Police Academy. The Academy is a 10-week program that meets once a week for three hours.

How to apply
The Academy is open to the public pending a background check. Applications are available at the front desk of the Marietta Police Department at 240 Lemon St. Application deadline for Fall 2012 session is Aug. 24.

Must live in the city limits or business owner in the city

Minimum age of 18
