Officer Bishop and K-9 Ava
K-9 Ava is a four-year old Czech Sheppard born in the Czech Republic. Ava is certified in narcotics detection, obedience, scent discrimination tracking/trailing and article searches. Ava obtained tracking/trailing certificates through the National Narcotics Detector Association (NNDA) and narcotics detection through the Law Enforcement Training Society (LETS).
Officer Figueroa and K-9 Barry
K-9 Barry is a five-year-old, 60-pound brown and black Belgian Malinois born in Holland. Barry is certified in narcotics detection, scent discrimination trailing, obedience and article searches. K-9 Barry is currently assigned to our Crime Interdiction Unit.
Agent Figueroa is our department K-9 trainer. Agent Figueroa received his K-9 trainers certification from Highland Canine Training Center LLC in Harmony, North Carolina and is in charge of training new K-9s, new handlers and the upkeep of our current dogs. He has been handling Barry for more than two years.
