The Superior Court of Cobb County has affirmed an earlier license revocation by the Marietta City Council of the Salon Q La Bomba Latin Night Club at 585 Franklin Road, and the city will ask the business to close immediately.
City of Marietta business license manager Scott Everingham revoked business licenses of the night club July 19 after a hearing with the owners where he found evidence the business violated city and state ordinances, including allowing the sale of alcohol to persons under 21.
The night club's owners appealed to Marietta City Council, which affirmed the city's original suspension.
Marietta Mayor Bill Dunaway said like the city's Weed and Seed program and Crime-Free Housing initiative, this decision is one more step toward improving the quality of life in the Franklin Road area.
Marietta Police Chief Dan Flynn viewed the court's decision as a victory for the Franklin Road Community.
"We began action after hearing the community's complaints about noise, violence and disorder," Flynn said. "I'm glad the city and the police department could be agents of that victory on behalf of the community."
