Marietta City Council will consider the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 budget at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 11 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The budget prepared by City staff is balanced and includes no service reductions and no tax or fee increases.
The budget funds the daily operations of the City, including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, and streets and public works maintenance.
The City's millage rate which is currently 2.788 mills is expected to remain the same. While the hiring freeze enacted by the City in 2009 generally remains in effect, certain positions may be filled on a case-by-case basis, and Marietta is still actively recruiting and hiring public safety positions in the Fire and Police departments.
The City's overall FY 2015 budget is $348.2 million, which includes the $50.6 million for the general fund budget. The City's undesignated reserve balance is approximately $15.2 million.
