MARIETTA – Connie Sutherland, Director of Marietta's Gone With The Wind Museum is pleased to announce that actress Judith Chapman, star of The Young and The Restless, will star in Rick Forster's one-woman play, Vivien, on Saturday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m. as part of the museum's 75th anniversary celebration.
Chapman will portray Vivien Leigh, best known for her Oscar-winning role in Gone With the Wind as the fiery heroine Scarlett O'Hara. In her later years the beautiful but troubled actress lived a tortured life due to mental illness. Her 20 year marriage to actor Laurence Olivier ended as a result of her battle with schizophrenia and bi-polar disease. Leigh also suffered from tuberculosis and later died from the lung disease in 1967 at the 53.
The 90 minute play is hosted by the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum as part of their 75th anniversary special event and will be presented at the former Theatre in the Square now home to The Marietta Players. Seating for the play is limited and there is some adult language.
Please visit the Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum website for a full event schedule and ticket prices. Tickets may be purchased for the entire weekend or for select activities.
