On Wednesday, December 11th, the Marietta City Council appointed individuals to both the City's Planning Commission and the Civil Service Board.
Brenda McCrae was appointed to Ward 5 of the Planning Commission for a three-year term beginning immediately and expiring on December 9, 2016.
About the Marietta Planning Commission:
- Consisting of seven members appointed by the Council, the Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and recommending zoning ordinances, a comprehensive plan for the City, and also establishes regulations for the subdivision of land within the City limits.
James Tarvin was appointed to Post 3 of the Civil Service Board for a three-year term beginning on January 1, 2014, and expiring on December 31, 2016.
About the Civil Service Board:
- Consisting of five members two of whom are elected by Police and Fire Departments, two appointed by Council, and one appointed by other four board members, the Civil Service Board oversees public hearings for any non-probationary member of the fire department below the rank of deputy chief or of the police department below the rank of deputy chief that has been removed, discharged, demoted, adversely affected by the promotional process or involuntarily retired except for cause upon written charges or complaint.
