The city of Marietta would like to remind citizens of the helicopter rides being offered at the Marietta Museum of History's Aviation Wing on Atlanta Road at South Cobb Drive on the first Saturday of each month, weather permitting.
The next helicopter rides will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5. The flights take passengers towards the Marietta Square and Kennestone Hospital, and then out near Kennesaw Mountain before returning to the Aviation Wing. A second route was recently added which takes passengers toward the Big Chicken, then over Kennestone Hospital to the eastern end of Kennesaw Mountain and finally coming back over the Square to the Aviation Wing museum.
The helicopter can hold up to three people at a time, depending on weight limits, and there are no age restrictions.
The cost is $40 per person (cash only), and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Marietta Museum of History's Aviation Wing.
