Marietta has been chosen to participate in the Recyclebank and SC Johnson Green Choices Recycling Challenge, a nationwide competition to get us all recycling. By participating, you could help us win a $100,000 grant towards a community sustainability project, and you'll earn points for deals and discounts, too.

Only one community in each state was chosen to be in this challenge, so let's make the most of this opportunity.

Sign up today at recyclebank.com/greenchoices  |  Request a recycling bin from the city of Marietta

    How can you help?

First, we need everyone participating. You can sign up today at recyclebank.com/greenchoices. If our community has the highest percentage of residents reporting recycling at the end of the challenge, we could receive the $100,000 grant. Each month you report your recycling on Recyclebank's website you're helping our standings in the challenge.

    $100,000 could make big difference

Just think what our community could do with a $100,000 grant. Perhaps solar panels for buildings. Or a sustainable community garden. Or a green curriculum in our schools. What we decide to do is up to us. And you can submit your ideas for a sustainability project or program so the reward is exactly what our community needs.

    Earn rewards, too

When you recycle, you'll not only help our standings, you'll also earn Recyclebank Points good towards deals and discounts at more than 3,000 local and national businesses. Recyclebank is a free program that rewards you for taking everyday green actions, like recycling at home.

Do it for the community, do it for the planet

Recycling is one of the easiest ways we can help our community. It keeps valuable resources out of the landfills, saves energy, reduces pollution and conserves our natural resources. With this unique opportunity to get a $100,000 grant, it can also be very rewarding.

So sign up now, start recycling and be sure to make it count by reporting it at recyclebank.com/greenchoices. Together, we could get that $100,000 grant. And be sure to tell your friends and neighbors, too.

    Green Choices Recycling Challenge

Challenge Period: July 2–Dec. 31, 2012. The Green Choices Recycling Challenge is intended to encourage resident recycling participation in each participant community and award the community that exhibits through skill, innovation, planning and other measures the most recycling participation during the challenge period with a grant to fund a green community project. Eligibility is limited to communities who have been selected by Recycle Rewards, Inc. and agreed to participate in the challenge.  For a list of participating communities, visit recyclebank.com/greenchoices. Individual households registered with Recycle Rewards, Inc. within a participating community must self-report with Recycle Rewards, Inc. its recycling participation each month during the challenge period. Grant: $100,000 grant to be used for a project or program that promotes community sustainability. For official rules, visit recyclebank.com/greenchoices.
