Pictures of 2010 Scarecrows on the Square
The public, city and county schools and school organizations are invited to register by September 23 to show your group, business or school's creativity and personality by making a scarecrow as part of the sixth annual Scarecrows on the Square contest.

- Visit the city's scarecrow "Parks," who will arrive on Square later this month
Public scarecrow contest
- Registration forms available online
- Email your info to mmoss@mariettaga.gov
- Entries: judged on originality, construction and presentation
- Creators: urged to use theme and name that showcases your business or group's personality or celebrates Marietta's history with historic figure
- Entry fee: $25 for each scarecrow, make checks payable to city of Marietta
- Scarecrows: should be set up by October 1 for judging October 8
School scarecrow contest
- Registration forms available online
- Email your info to mmoss@mariettaga.gov
- Entries: judged on originality, construction and presentation
- Schools: urged to use theme and name that showcases your school or group's personality or celebrates Marietta's history with historic figure
- No entry fee for school scarecrows
- Scarecrows: should be set up by September 23, in time for Marietta Reads! kickoff September 24
- School division: judged October 8
Winners of both contests
- Announced and prizes awarded at Halloween Happenings costume contest on Square October 15 at 1:45 p.m.
Scarecrows need to be removed by November 2.
