Terry Lee was appointed to a four-year term as a citizen member of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water in 2010.
Lee began his career in the insurance industry with Farmers Insurance Group, the third largest U.S. insurance company, where he received numerous awards for outstanding claims service and customer relations. Under his leadership, the mission regional office went from a last place ranking to being first in the nation.
After moving to Georgia in 1994, Lee started his own business, T. Lee Associates. His firm specializes in tax and financial services for individuals and small businesses, and also represents clients on social security and disability claims. His East Cobb office serves clients in 17 states.
Lee is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He received his Juris Doctorate with honors from the John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Ga., and a claims administration degree from the Insurance Institute of America.
In addition to serving as vice chair of the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation and chair of their finance committee, Lee also represents Ward 5 on the Marietta Historic Preservation Commission. He is the financial secretary for Zion Baptist Church and is a member of the National Society of Tax Professionals.
Lee and his wife, Cozetta, live in Marietta. They have one daughter, Candice, who graduated from Marietta High School and is a senior at Georgia Southern University. His hobbies include tennis and historic preservation. He is a member of Zion Baptist Church.
