The purpose of Marietta's SWAT Medic Program is to provide emergency care to officers, bystanders, and suspects without having to wait on a unit staged at a distant location. The medics are trained as SWAT Operators and work as members of the perimeter team.
It is critical that the members of Marietta's Police and Fire Special Response Team (SRT) participate in frequent drills that allow individuals to hone their skills. The drills also allow members to learn the strengths of the others around them and foster the teamwork that is critical to a successful emergency response.
