The city of Marietta Department of Development Services administers the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing choice voucher program, commonly referred to as Section 8.
The housing choice voucher program helps extremely low- and very low-income families lease decent, safe and affordable housing within its jurisdiction, which covers all Cobb County cities and unincorporated Cobb County, Ga.
Landlords must request a rent increase in writing and wait for approval before changing the family's rent. The annual renewal packet is available here or on the partner portal for download. Please complete and return via e-mail or fax. The packet is also available at our office.
All HAP contracts are sent to landlords via email. Landlords must download, sign and return via email. This will allow a faster contract execution with no need to come to the office to sign.
The voucher program office is located at 268 Lawrence St., Suite 200, Marietta, Ga., 30060. Telephone 770-794-5430; fax 770-421-3805
